(5/22/00, 8 p.m. ET) - Judging from the response A Perfect Circle has received on its tour with Nine Inch Nails, as well as from its single "Judith," the band looks to have a success on its hands with Mer De Noms, which arrives in stores Tuesday (May 23).

The band is making a big dent, as "Judith" is currently one of the most requested songs at rock radio. A Perfect Circle can feel anticipation building for the album, and band creator Billy Howerdel told LAUNCH that recording the collection wasn't as glamorous as people might think.

"I don't think you ever can count on things moving as swimmingly as they have right now," he said. "At least how fast it's been going. It's funny because I'm sure people are going to go, 'Oh it's this big huge project,' and you know if it gets to a certain level then they're like. . . I'm thinking back to me being in the stinking back of my garage working on these songs with planes going overhead, farthest from sheik and posh. Like no matter what happens, It's just like any other kid making a record in his basement."

The album has been in the works since 1996, but due to other projects Howerdel was involved in, he didn't get around to finishing the album until late 1999.

A Perfect Circle, featuring vocalist and Tool frontman Maynard Keenan, is on tour with Nine Inch Nails.
