Lee Ann Womack's Christmas Album To Feature Duet With Harry Connick, Jr.

(8/4/02, 7 a.m. ET) -- Lee Ann Womack's upcoming Christmas album, A Season For Romance, features a duet with Harry Connick Jr. The two recorded their version of "Baby It's Cold Outside" for the project, which will contain mostly traditional standards with a few originals thrown in.

Womack says the experience of working with Connick was incredible, but she was a bit overwhelmed by the singer's talent. "It was great," she tells LAUNCH. "I have just a tremendous amount of respect for him and his talent. It really is intimidating for me because I can't even understand him musically. He's so far beyond me, but it was such an honor for him to come in and sing on the record, and hopefully we'll get to do some more stuff together and I'm just... I'm in awe of him."

Womack quickly learned that she wasn't the only one in awe. According to the singer, she didn't realize just how big of a heartthrob Connick really is. "I know that he's been in a lot of movies and things, and I had actually seen one of them, but I had forgotten," she says. "My husband had to remind me, I guess it was the day that we recorded together, that we had seen that movie with him in it. I knew him as the singer. I didn't really know him for his movies, so I didn't realize that it was that big of a deal to people, but all the women that work with me were like, 'Oh my God!'"

A Season For Romance is tentatively slated to hit stores in October. In the meantime, Womack's new album, Something Worth Leaving Behind, is due out August 20.
