Our Lady Peace Announces Guitar Search
02/20/2002 6:00 PM, Yahoo! Music Jerry Armor
(2/20/02, 6 p.m. ET) - Our Lady Peace has announced plans to look for a new guitarist to replace the departed Mike Turner. The band's search will not be as high profile as Limp Bizkit's recent traveling guitarist auditions--interested parties are merely requested to send a tape to the band, not exceeding four minutes in length. The tape should include two minutes of the musician's best guitar work and writing, as well as a brief interview and/or self-description.
Tapes must be received by March 31, and can be sent to: Our Lady Peace - Guitar Search, 1121 Leslie Street, Toronto, ON M3C 2J9.
Our Lady Peace is currently in the studio working with producer Bob Rock on its still-untitled fifth album. The collection is in the mixing stage and will be released sometime in 2002.
Our Lady Peace is among the top nominees for the Juno Awards, which are Canada's equivalent of the Grammy Awards. The band received five Juno nominations this year: best group, best single, best video, best album design, and best album.
