Brian McKnight Makes Surprise Guest Appearance During Kirk Franklin Show

(1/22/03, 12 p.m. ET) -- Brian McKnight helped gospel artist Kirk Franklin celebrate his seventh wedding anniversary Saturday (January 18) during Franklin's set during the Hopeville Tour stop at the Universal Amphitheater in Universal City, California.

Just before Franklin concluded his set, he called his wife, Tammy, onto the stage. After expressing his love for her and appreciation for allowing him to work during the weekend of their anniversary, Franklin said he wished he could sing to her their wedding song.

Franklin's plea cued McKnight to join the couple on stage to surprise Tammy with a live performance of his song "Still In Love" from his 1995 album I Remember You.

Franklin's fellow Hopeville Tour members Yolanda Adams and Donnie McClurkin also offered the audience an added bonus when they performed their song "The Prayer." The duo recently taped a video for the song written by David Foster. The song is expected to appear on McClurkin's album due out in March.

Adams, McClurkin, and Franklin each performed individual sets before joining for a closing segment during the three plus hour show.
