Common To Guest Star On 'Girlfriends'

(1/5/03, 10 a.m. ET) -- Rap star Common, who has been dating singer Erykah Badu for some time, will make a guest appearance on UPN's Girlfriends. The rapper will play the role of a former lover of Persia White's character Lynn Searcy, who goes public about Searcy's sexual practices during a poetry recital.

The episode, which is scheduled to air on January 6 at 9 p.m. ET, will also star spoken word artist Saul Williams.

In related news, Common released his latest set, Electric Circus, in December. The set features guest appearances by Cee-Lo, Pharrell Williams, Prince, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, ?uestlove from the Roots, Sonny from P.O.D., and others.
