(3/22/02, 10 a.m. ET) -- System Of A Down and the band featuring former Rage Against The Machine members and onetime Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell will be making political waves at this summer's OzzFest. The bands are not only playing the festival mainstage, they plan to educate concertgoers about the world and the political climate.
Tour organizer and Ozzy Osbourne's wife, Sharon Osbourne, said she was open to the idea of the bands educating concertgoers via political booths. "There's going to be one that deals with world situations that are going on right now, very political. System Of A Down have done that with Tom Morello and Chris Cornell, and they will be in there giving information to the kids on world politics and several other major issues which they feel affect the kids today," she said.
OzzFest 2002 kicks off July 6 in Bristow, Virginia and the tour ends September 8 in Dallas.
