Ice Cube's 'All About The Benjamins' All About Flawed Characters

(3/8/02, 1 p.m. ET) -- Ice Cube's new movie, All About The Benjamins, is all about its flawed main characters, Bucum and Reggie. Cube's Bucum is an underpaid, under-appreciated bounty hunter who sees a diamond heist as the perfect opportunity to make a name for himself in the law enforcement community. Reggie--played by Next Friday co-star Mike Epps--is a petty thief who loses his wallet containing a winning lottery ticket worth $60 million and reluctantly teams up with Bucum to get it back.
Ice Cube, who also produced and co-wrote the picture, says that he was happy to play a good guy with not-so-honest intentions. "That's the beauty of Bucum, you know what I'm saying? He's not just the standard good guy, but he's the good guy who's as smart as everybody else. You have the chance to get a hold of 10, 20 million dollars, you know everybody going to be thinking of a way to get away with it, everybody that's true to themselves. That's what I like about it, it's not traditional, it's kind of organically what it is and you know, I like that," he said.
All About The Benjamins co-stars Eva Mendes (Training Day) as Reggie's ambitious girlfriend, and Dark Angel's Valarie Rae Miller as Bucum's co-worker who wants a part of the action and some respect. The film opens nationwide today (March 8).
