Joe Cocker Tour Starts Sunday

(9/1/00, 1 p.m. ET) - Promoting his new album, No Ordinary World, Joe Cocker kicks off a North American tour on Sunday (Sept. 3) in Aspen, Colo., beginning a three-month trek around the continent. Cocker will spend about a month headlining before he hooks up with Tina Turner to serve as the support act on what she has promised is her last full-scale tour.

Cocker told LAUNCH what we could expect from his shows: "Well, it depends if you come along before we start the Tina Turner dates. [On my own show] I do four or five off the new album," he noted, adding that his stint as an supporting act will change his set list a bit. "I figure when we get to working with Tina a bit later in the year, I've only got like an hour and 10 -- maybe an hour-15 -- to really do what I do. So with that, I'm under a bit of pressure to do more of the hits."
