Korn/Disturbed/TRUSTcompany Tour Gets Underway

(10/8/02, 1 p.m. ET) -- Korn, Disturbed, and TRUSTcompany kick off a U.S. tour together Tuesday (October 8) at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Manchester, New Hampshire. The trek, dubbed the Pop Sux! tour by headliners Korn, will cover 28 shows across the country in six weeks.

Each group is touring in support of a latest album that has enjoyed time on the upper reaches of the Billboard 200 album sales chart--Korn's Untouchables debuted at Number Two in June, Disturbed's Believe checked in at Number One earlier two weeks ago, and, perhaps most surprisingly, TRUSTcompany's major-label debut, The Lonely Position Of Neutral, made its splash at Number 11 in August.

Still, as the lowest-billed act on the tour, the members of TRUSTcompany recognize the challenges before them. Frontman Kevin Palmer tells LAUNCH, "It's a totally different experience but it's a great experience, from going in a van to cities where nobody knows who you are, people still don't know who you are at first but you're getting to open up for a band that's got a big name so you're getting a chance to win over the audience. Or, you know, like, say, 'We're a new band and this is what we sound like,' and hopefully they'll like us."

Ticket price for the Pop Sux! tour will include a $10 discount for fans under the age of 20. "We just think that right now, because the economy is so screwed, kids are getting it the worst," Korn's Jonathan Davis said in a statement. "And we know that there aren't that many parents buying Korn tickets for kids right now, so we wanted to do something for our younger fans."
