Fat Joe Says LL Cool J Is His Idol

(6/6/02, 5 p.m. ET) -- Fat Joe is currently enjoying the success of his latest release, Jealous Ones Still Envy (J.O.S.E.), which has been certified platinum for sales of a million copies.

Fat Joe recently shared that he looks up to LL Cool J. "I mean, LL Cool J is, you know, my idol in hip-hop and, you know, every time I rap, after I do songs, I be, like, 'I hope LL likes this.' Funny story is one time, I met this girl--she told me she worked at a record store and my album had just come out, and she was, like, 'Yo, you would never believe who came to my store and bought your album.' I was, like, 'Who?' She was, like, 'LL Cool J came and bought your album.' I was, like, 'Oh, wow.'"

The next single from Fat Joe will be "Opposites Attract" featuring Remy Martin. His latest single, "What's Luv?" featuring Ashanti, continues to dominate the pop chart as a mainstay in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
