Cake Announces Its 'Favorites'

(8/14/00, 5 p.m. ET) - "The Distance," "Never There," and a cover of the disco-era hit "I Will Survive" are among the tracks on Cake's upcoming greatest-hits album, Selected Favorites, due in stores October 10. The album features a dozen songs in all from three Capricorn Records albums: 1994's Motorcade Of Generosity, 1996's Fashion Nugget, and 1998's Prolonging The Magic. Several of the cuts have been remastered for the Sacramento, California, band's upcoming collection.

The complete track listing is: "Ruby Sees All," "The Distance," "Walk On By," "I Will Survive," "Rock 'N' Roll Lifestyle," "Sheep Go To Heaven," "Friend Is A Four Letter Word," "Never There," "Comanche," "Stickshifts And Safetybelts," "Let Me Go," and "Jolene."

Cake is currently recording its next album in Northern California. It will be released by Columbia Records.
