Bow Wow Is Hard At Work Promoting 'Like Mike'

(6/28/02, 6 p.m. ET) -- Teen rap star Bow Wow has been putting in a lot of extra hours promoting his forthcoming movie, Like Mike. While the rapper did appear in Ice Cube's All About The Benjamins, Like Mike represents his first starring role. Bow Wow plays the part of Calvin Cambridge, a young orphan who finds a pair of magical sneakers that allow him to play basketball like Michael Jordan, and to make the NBA. Like Mike opens nationwide on Wednesday (July 3).
On Monday (July 1), Bow Wow will be at Planet Hollywood in New York's Times Square at 3 p.m. ET to judge a basketball dribbling contest and to present Planet Hollywood with an autographed basketball jersey from Like Mike.
On Wednesday, Bow Wow is scheduled to perform live for CBS's The Early Show. The performance will take place outside of The Early Show studios, located at the Trump International Building in New York, at 8 a.m. ET. The rapper will perform "Basketball" from the Like Mike soundtrack and two other selections. The live concert will be open to the public, but fans outside of New York can catch Bow Wow on the Scream 2 tour later this summer with B2K and IMX.
