Default Takes Time Off After Cancellation Of Creed Tour

(5/5/02, 7 a.m. ET) -- The members of Default have suddenly found themselves with downtime due to the cancellation of their tour with headliners Creed after a car accident injured Creed frontman Scott Stapp last week.

"The band is getting some time off, which is a good thing," says a spokesperson for Default. They are back home in Canada to "spend a few days with their families."

However, the break looks to be a short one. LAUNCH has learned that Default will likely head out on the road again in support of its TVT Records debut album, The Fallout, in the coming days; either to play its own headlining dates in the States or to promote the album in Japan and Australia--or maybe a combination of the two.

It makes sense that Default would be itching to get back out on the road as soon as possible. With a hit album and two hit singles in "Wasting My Time" and "Deny," the band is experiencing considerable momentum.

Guitarist Jeremy Hora tells LAUNCH that it's a dream coming true. "When I was 10 years old, this is what you always wanted to do. Who does not want to be in that kind of situation, where you don't have to go to a job at 9 Monday morning. Oh, no one wants to be here. Everywhere we go, I don't know, everyone's got a smile on their face, wants to see us, and we want to see them just as bad. We are very, very, very lucky individuals who get to live a life like this."
