(5/1/02, 5 p.m. ET) -- New Roc-a-fella inductee Cam'ron is preparing to release "Leave Me Alone" as the follow-up to his explosive debut "Oh Boy." Both songs appear on his album Come Home With Me, due out May 14.
The rapper recently told LAUNCH that "Leave Me Alone" samples the music of one of his favorite artists. "I did the Tupac beat over for Ambitionz [Az] A Ridah. Daz came to New York and did the beat over for me. And he's featured on the chorus also."
Cam'ron explained why he chose to re-use the music for the song, which appears on Tupac's Death Row Records debut All Eyez On Me.
"Like over here, that's like the biggest Tupac record of all time, you know what I'm saying. And I always loved the beat, and I'm a big fan of 'Pac. I felt like right now I'm making a comeback sorta like he did. And I just wanted to use the beat, and thought it was hot," he said.
Cam'ron is expected to tape the video for the song in Los Angeles in coming weeks. He is planning to have Daz Dillinger, half of Tha Dogg Pound and D.P.G., to appear in the video.
