Beenie Man Explains How He Created His 'Tropical Storm'

(8/9/02, 1 p.m. ET) -- Reggae artist Beenie Man recently released "Feel It Boy" featuring Janet Jackson, the lead single from his new album, Tropical Storm, due out August 20. The song is currently Number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

Tropical Storm also features guest appearances by Lil' Kim, Sean Paul, Baby Cham, Tanto Metro & Devonte, Lady Saw, and the aforementioned Janet Jackson.

Beenie Man recently explained how he created his latest offering. "First of all, we make the name of the album first, then you make the album, see. Then you find out the meaning and why you going name the album that way, 'cause we want to keep the music tropical. It's an international album, but it's not like I'm rapping. You know, I'm doing my Jamaican thing, keeping the musical side of it real, you see, so the music will always be tropical, but it's hitting you like a storm because it's going to come inside your house."
