Shaggy's Label Releasing 'Showtime' Soundtrack, Rayvon Talks Tour

(2/12/02, 2 p.m. ET) -- Shaggy's Big Yard Records label will release the movie soundtrack for Showtime, a forthcoming comedy starring Robert De Niro, Eddie Murphy, and rapper Mos Def. The Big Yard album, due March 19, will be distributed by MCA and will feature collaborations between Shaggy and Babyface, as well as one featuring Snoop Dogg and Barrington Levy. The soundtrack will also comprise recordings by Rayvon, Ricardo "RikRok" Ducent, and other artists signed to the Big Yard label.

Rayvon was featured on "Angel," one of the smash singles from Shaggy's multiplatinum Hotshot album. Rayvon is currently touring with Shaggy in Europe and elsewhere overseas. Rayvon recently shared that traveling in first class isn't always easy when you're black, as Method Man and other celebrities have said in the past.

Rayvon told LAUNCH, "I even wrote a small song about it on my first album called "Terminal Gate." You know, when you get to the terminal gate, you know, it's a thing of profiling. They look at you and decide if they're going to give you an extra check or not. And a lot of the times, yeah, traveling in first class sometimes, you know, you might feel a certain vibe that you're not that welcome there, or you're not comfortable, but, you know, it doesn't bother me. I'm gonna go where I'm gonna go and who don't like it, well, hmm, that's too bad. "

"My Bad" is the title of the Rayvon song on the Showtime soundtrack. The single will also be featured on Rayvon's forthcoming album, Two Way, due out in June (delayed from its original February release date). Fans of Shaggy, RikRok, and Rayvon can already get their hands on the Hotshot Ultramix, a just-released album that features remixes of Shaggy's Hotshot hits, as well as three previously unreleased tracks.
