A.F.I. Concerned About Touring Europe In Wake Of War In Iraq

03/25/2003 1:00 PM, Yahoo! Music
Darren Davis

(3/25/03, 1 p.m. ET) -- A.F.I. has a hit on its hands with the single "Girl's Not Grey" from Sing The Sorrow. However, the band is a little reluctant to jump into overseas touring mode with the war in Iraq going full force.

Drummer Adam Carson said he's concerned about anti-American sentiment over in Europe, and feels now is not the best time to travel. "I'm a little concerned to go to Europe," Carson said. "Obviously, this war is not one of great public support. There is a small demographic that supports it and a huge, huge group of people that don't support it. It definitely makes you think twice before going overseas. It's not too great of a time right now."

Carson said that A.F.I. is slated to head to Europe for a promotional tour in May, and as for now the trip is still on. He indicated, however, that if the political atmosphere remains as it is now, the status of the tour could change.

A.F.I. starts a U.S. tour in Davis, California on April 2. Headline dates are scheduled through May 21 in Norfolk, Virginia. The band then has two separate stints on the Warped Tour, one in June and one in July.
