(7/18/03, 5 p.m. ET) -- Flaming Lips leader Wayne Coyne recently said there's a chance they'll team up with Radiohead for an unusual collaboration.
Coyne told the British publication, NME, "We're talking about doing a couple of things. I know there is a sort of experimental TV show that comes out of Chicago that we're both scheduled to do. The show typically pairs people together of the same ilk. They've been wanting to get us up there for a while, but they haven't found anybody that seemed worthy of a show... Radiohead are talking about doing it, so we could start there around about the middle of September."
The first leg of Radiohead's tour kicks off on August 13 outside of Boston in Mansfield, Massachusetts. So far, Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks have been confirmed to be one of the opening acts on the first leg, and it's believed the Flaming Lips are in the running to be the second band. It's also believed that the Flaming Lips have a chance of joining confirmed openers, Supergrass, when Radiohead kicks off the second leg of their tour.
