Queen Latifah To Host 'Vibe' Awards

(9/16/03, 4 p.m. ET) -- Rapper and actor Queen Latifah has been tapped to host Vibe magazine's Vibe Awards which will be held on November 21 and broadcast on UPN, according to Allhiphop.com. A site hasn't yet been announced for the awards and more information including the nominees, performers, and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks.

Queen Latifah is presently in New Jersey shooting her latest movie, Cookout. The rapper co-wrote the script and is producing the film for her Flavor Unit Films and Lions Gates Film. The film stars Latifah, Ja Rule, Eve, Jenifer Lewis, Quran Pender, Meagan Good, Jonathan Silverman, Tim Meadows, Farrah Fawcett, and Danny Glover.

Queen Latifah is also slated to star in Barbershop II, Taxi, and My Wife Is A Gangster. The rapper will also be the star of a spin-off movie, Beautyshop, which is in development and based on her character in Barbershop II.
