Halford To 'Let It Rip' On Headlining Tour
09/26/2000 7:00 AM, Yahoo! Music Craig Rosen
(9/26/00,7 a.m. ET) - Fresh from its opening slot on the arena tour with Iron Maiden and fellow support act Queensryche, Halford, featuring former Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford, will hit the road for a short headlining tour beginning on October 10 in Hamel, Minnesota. The tour is in support of the band's recent debut album, Resurrection, which recalls the singer's classic vocal performance in the Priest. And the new live dates mean Halford will again practice his nightly transition from soft-spoken individual offstage to metal god onstage. "Something happens," he says, "I don't know what it is. It's kind of intangible. It's probably best left un-analyzed because it might be too scary to find out what the hell's going on. But I know that something takes over. That's just the full extent of the passion that I have for my music, and the fact that to some extent it's always been my therapy. Maybe I'm a disgruntled postal worker, I don't know. I just get out there and let it rip." Here are the current tour dates (subject to change):
October 10 - Hamel, MN - Medina Entertainment Center October 11 - Chicago, IL - House Of Blues October 12 - Milwaukee, WI - The Rave Bar October 14 - Detroit, MI - Harpo's Concert Theatre October 15 - Grand Rapids, MI - Orbit Room October 17 - Worcester, MA - Palladium October 18 - New York, NY - Roseland Ballroom October 19 - Hartford, CT - Webster Theatre October 21 - Old Bridge, NJ - Birch Hill Nite Club October 22 - Washington, D.C. - 9:30 Club
