(4/6/00, 1 p.m. ET) - Summersault -- a summer tour created by Canadian band Our Lady Peace -- has incureased its star power. The festival will roll across Canada this year -- with an exact itinerary still being firmed up -- but Our Lady Peace can now count Smashing Pumpkins and Foo Fighters among their special guests. Our Lady Peace vocalist Raine Maida said, "This news is so exciting for me and the rest of the band, as we've been working on this for the last four or five months. Taking this tour nationally was our plan from the beginning, and we always wanted to bring on board friends of ours and bands that we're completely impressed by musically. With the Pumpkins and the Foo Fighters signed up -- and we can't wait to confirm the rest of the bands as well -- it's going to be a great day of music." Our Lady Peace is currently touring the U.S. in support of their latest effort, Happiness… Is Not A Fish That You Can Catch, and the band is currently getting airplay with the song "One Man Army" and the new single "Is Anybody Home?" Even though the band's second album, Clumsy, has gone gold, huge success in the United States still eludes them. When asked if success in America is important to the band, guitarist Mike Turner told LAUNCH. "I don't think we differentiate, to be honest. It's not as though it's Canada versus America, you know? Oh, we've attained success in Canada, therefore we have to get into the States," he said. "Basically, we have to go to anywhere people haven't really gotten into the band and we have an opportunity to go. You can only play to your strengths for so long." -- Darren Davis, New York
