(10/25/99, 2 p.m. PDT) - Marcy Playground, best-known for their modern rock hit, "Sex And Candy," will release its new album, Shapeshifter, shortly after Halloween on Nov. 2. That's also when the band starts its tour, but one can be sure that the group will take time off to enjoy Halloween.

Halloween is bass player Dylan Keefe's favorite holiday, and he told LAUNCH about one of his favorite costumes of all time. "This friend and I, we were knights--we were thinking about this the whole year, and we were planning it," he said. "We made all this armor out of plywood. We were really dumb, but we were really completely focused. So we added all this plywood that we painted to look like metal. And it had hinges all over it and it was just the heaviest. I think we made it around the block once or something like that."

To add insult to injury, Keefe and his friends built a chariot to carry a friend dressed as a king around the block. The chariot was constructed of--what else--wood.
