Fat Joe Doesn't Want To Be Out Of Sight Or Out Of Mind

(10/15/02, 10 a.m. ET) -- Rapper Fat Joe recently released a first single, "Crush Tonight" featuring Ginuwine, from his forthcoming album, Loyalty, which is due out November 12. For Fat Joe, who is scheduled to debut a video for the new song on BET and MTV on Friday (October 18), Loyalty is his second album in 12 months--Jealous Ones Still Envy (J.O.S.E.), which was certified platinum for sales of a million copies, came out last December.
Fat Joe recently explained to LAUNCH why it was so important for him to come back with a new album so soon. "Well, you know, the game is real competitive--out of sight, out of mind. The perfect example is a Jill Scott. I bought, like, 10 of her albums, right, and I'm a big fan. And the other day, I'm watching BET and she comes on the commercial, just going, like, 'Black star power.' My first reaction: 'Where the hell is Jill Scott at, man? She fell off? What's going on?' So that's just the theory of coming back, you know what I mean, that fast--you don't want to be out of sight, out of mind."
Loyalty features guest appearances by Scarface, Cam'ron, Ginuwine, Tony Sunshine, Prospect, Remy, and Charlie Rock LD. The set was produced by Precision, Teflon, Armageddon, Ron Browz, and Ty Fyffe.
