Bow Wow Hopes To Play Basketball For Duke At 18

(7/11/02, 6 p.m. ET) -- Bow Wow's debut as a leading man in Like Mike has been well-received. The film made approximately $13 million in its first week of release. The young rapper-actor recently shared, however, that basketball is his first love.

Bow Wow, who will attend Vince Carter's basketball camp this month, told LAUNCH that he hopes to play point guard for Duke University, but added, "Right now, I'm just worrying about right now, the current thing, which is acting and rapping. I know I can't go to the NBA at 15 but, like I said, by the time I'm 18, that's when I'm really going to hit it hard. This year, I'm going to a camp, a basketball camp, so by the time I'm 18 that's when I'm really going to hit it."
