A Perfect Circle's Howerdel Collaborates With Abandoned Pools, Custom

(3/15/02, 10 a.m. ET) -- A Perfect Circle's Billy Howerdel has been taking advantage of his free time by collaborating with others.
On Wednesday (March 13), the guitarist joined Abandoned Pools onstage during its gig at the Roxy in Los Angeles. Howerdel performed on the group's "Mercy Kiss" and its latest single, "The Remedy."
Abandoned Pools is fronted by former Eels bassist Tommy Walter. The band's debut album, Humanistic, arrived last September from Extasy Records.
Meanwhile, the APC guitarist can also be heard on the modern rock radio airwaves thanks to "Hey Mister," the first single by New York artist Custom. Howerdel can actually be found on four songs from Custom's upcoming debut album, Fast, while having co-written another.
Custom tells LAUNCH that working with Howerdel made perfect sense. "Billy from A Perfect Circle was introduced to me by (A&R executive) Tony Berg, probably because we both work in the situation with just, like, one guy in a room with a computer. And then we hit it off and we collaborated a little bit. It was great."
Custom's Fast arrives Tuesday (March 19) from Artist Direct Records.
