(10/12/01, 3 p.m. ET) -- Enya's A Day Without Rain continues to climb its way to the upper reaches of the Billboard 200 album sales chart, moving up one notch to Number Three on the latest listing. The Irish superstar sold more than 128,000 copies of the album during the current period, according to industry sources, and remains behind only hip-hop acts Ja Rule and Jay-Z for the most album sales in that time.
Almost 3 million copies of the A Day Without Rain have been sold in the United States since its release 11 months ago, while the number totals 7 million when counting worldwide sales. The album's single, "Only Time," has done its part in making cash registers ring--the cut can currently be found on six different Billboard charts, including at Number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100.
