Limp Bizkit 'Eyes' New Single

(10/17/03, 12 p.m. ET) -- The second single from Limp Bizkit's new Results May Vary album is an already controversial cover of the Who's "Behind Blue Eyes." Mike Smith, Limp Bizkit's new guitarist, says it was important to singer Fred Durst that the group's version wasn't a carbon copy of the Who's.

"He really made it his own, I think," Smith said. "I tell him all the time, I'm like, 'Dude, that song was written for you to sing.' The Who's version is awesome, obviously--you know, it's the original version. But Fred, when I hear that version, I'm just, I just get chills, man, 'cause I think he did a wonderful job, and I think it does relate to him. And I think that's something he wanted to share with people."

"Behind Blue Eyes" is actually more controversial at this point for its video. The clip was directed by Durst and features an appearance by actress Halle Berry, including a kiss between the two. The song also appears in Berry's upcoming movie, Gothika, which comes out November 21.

Since the video was shot, rumors have escalated that Durst and Berry are an item. Durst has alluded to a new special someone in his life, and has been spotted visiting Berry on the sets of Gothika and Catwoman. The actress recently separated from her husband of three years, musician Eric Benet.

Results May Vary has now sold over 530,000 copies in three weeks of release. Their last album, 2000's Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water, sold over a million records in its first seven days on sale.
