Glen Campbell has signed a one-off
deal with Universal South Records for a two-CD set due June 8.
"Love Is the Answer: 24 Songs of Faith, Hope and Love" contains
one disc of pop standards and one of gospel songs.
The country icon was recently the subject of a four-disc
career retrospective released by EMI.
Earlier in May, Campbell pleaded guilty to "extreme"
drunken driving and leaving the scene of an accident in
connection with a November collision near his Phoenix home.
Under the plea bargain, he faces a 10-day jail term with
eligibility for work furlough after 48 hours.
Universal South has also signed former Arista Nashville act
Lee Roy Parnell , who was last on Billboard's country albums
chart in 1999. Former Sony artist Charlie Robison has signed
with Dualtone Records in Nashville, while Rounder Records has
signed bluegrass group the Grascals.
