Michael McDonald Mines Motown Once More
12/23/2004 12:54 PM, AP
Try as he might, Michael McDonald says it's difficult to find a bad Motown song.
Reprising the effort of his previous remake of Motown hits, McDonald said he didn't worry about it living up to the first.
"I think with Motown, you could probably make all the way to a Motown 10 and you'd still be in the good stuff," he told AP Radio in a recent interview. "You'd have a hard time exhausting that catalog."
The new CD includes such hits as "Second That Emotion," "Nowhere to Run" and "What's Goin' On."
"We've had a great deal of fun making both those records," McDonald said. "This one, I think is even in some ways, at least for me better than the first one."
