3 Doors Down will perform during the 27th annual Budweiser Shootout on February 12 at Daytona International Speedway. The event will be broadcast on FOX TV and comes just days after the release of the band's new album, Seventeen Days, which arrives in stores on February 8. 3 Doors Down will play their latest single, "Let Me Go," and vocalist Brad Arnold will sing the National Anthem before the start of the All-Star race.
Guitarist Chris Henderson told LAUNCH that in addition to the Budweiser Shootout, 3 Doors Down plans to play a few shows over the next month, before kicking off a large-scale tour: "We're gonna start doing some shows kind of in the next month and a half -- just some things, pick-up shows. And then we're gonna do a two-week, kind of a work-up tour just to kind of get our feet back under us. And then go out and do some shows here in the States and small things, and then off we go."
The members of 3 Doors Down are no strangers to racing, and are actually good friends with racing champ, Dale Earnhardt Jr., who recently told whowon.com, "I always like seeing them when they can make it to a race. It'll be great to see them start their tour at Daytona."
The Mississippi natives are also set to perform in Washington D.C. on January 20 at a President Bush post-inaugural bash organized by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Official tour dates have not yet been announced.
