Los Angeles-based rapper The Game has been hit with assault charges as well as a $280 million civil lawsuit for his role in an altercation that took place at WKYS-FM in Lanham, Maryland, on January 21, which left radio host Kwasi "DJ Zxulu" Jones hospitalized. Allhiphop.com reports that prosecutors in Prince George's County, Maryland, have formally filed assault and battery charges against Game, whose real name is Jaceyon Taylor. Jones has also filed a multi-million lawsuit alleging assault, battery, emotional distress, and negligence.
According to published reports, The Game and up to 20 members of his entourage allegedly attacked Jones at the Washington, D.C.-area radio station after he made a joke about the earpiece attachment that Game's manager Jimmy "Henchmen" Rosemond was wearing for his cell phone.
Jones said, "The story that's leaking out there is pretty much true. I was hospitalized with multiple injuries." The Game later issued an apology while appearing on BET. He said, "This is my public apology. To all the people at Radio 1, I'm being sincere -- we're sorry about what happened in D.C. It'll never happen again."
But despite the apology, the Game rapped on the remix of "Hate It Or Love It," "I'm rap's MVP/Don't make me remind y'all what happened in D.C."
