Charity tour ahead for Hootie & Blowfish

Hootie & the Blowfish announced a 14-city concert tour Wednesday to help collect supplies for disadvantaged schools.

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring school supplies, which are in turn donated to schools in the community. The group started its school charity concerts in 2003, and has collected around $100,000 worth of supplies so far, it says.

The latest Homegrown Concert Series will begin July 3 in Lewiston, N.Y., and end Sept. 3 in Detroit.

Other stops include Atlanta; Norfolk, Va.; Glendale, Ariz.; Hilton Head, S.C.; Highland Park, Ill.; Charleston, S.C.; and Indianapolis.

The group's hits include "Let Her Cry," "Hold My Hand" and "Only Wanna Be with You."
