Beyonce backs LeToya

Beyonce Knowles has insisted there is no dispute between her and former Destiny's Child star LeToya, who has just issued her debut solo album.

According to reports, Beyonce intentionally scheduled U.K. pre-sales for her upcoming second solo album, B'Day, to clash with the U.K. release of LeToya's self-titled debut. However, the pop superstar has released a statement denying the reports, which were published in the New York Daily News, and insisted there is no "controversy" between her and LeToya.

"I have enormous respect and admiration for LeToya as an artist and as a businesswoman and I wish her incredible success," explained Beyonce. "LeToya and I have known each other since childhood and, because of all we've been through, I know that we both really care--and want what's best--for each other. It makes me sad that people are trying to stir up a controversy where there is none."

Beyonce releases B'Day on September 4, while LeToya is out now in the U.S. and October 4 in the U.K.
