U2 and Green Day recreated the Beatles' infamous Abbey Road album cover last week as they prepare to perform their Hurricane Katrina charity single for the first time.
The pair of rock supergroups recently recorded a new version of the Skids' "The Saints Are Coming," which they will play for the first time tonight in New Orleans.
The performance and cover are intended to aid a fundraising effort in New Orleans, for musicians affected by last year's devastating storm in the region.
At the Louisiana Superdome tonight, during the Monday Night Football broadcast, U2 and Green Day will appear onstage before the New Orleans Saints play the Atlanta Falcons.
In London last week, as work completed on the cover, both groups staged a recreation of the Abbey Road sleeve outside the studio in West Hampstead, London.
Renowned photographer Anton Corbijn was there to shoot the world famous musicians in number of a poses on the seminal zebra crossing, which may feature on the cover of a future release for the track.
Proceeds from the cover of "The Saints Are Coming" will go to Music Rising, the hurricane charity initiative launched by U2's the Edge.
