Police, White Stripes lead Bonnaroo fest

02/13/2007 7:36 PM, AP

The newly reunited Police will headline the four-day Bonnaroo Music Festival in June, which will also include the White Stripes, Tool and Wilco.

The lineup for the Tennessee music festival, to be announced Wednesday, also includes planned performances by Widespread Panic, the Roots, Franz Ferdinand and the Flaming Lips.

This year's Bonnaroo Festival will take place June 14-17 on a 700-acre farm in rural Manchester, Tenn., 60 miles south of Nashville. The final lineup is expected to attract over 100 bands and 20 comedians, performing across 13 stages.

Last year's festival was attended by approximately 80,000 fans.

The Police, who broke up in 1984, announced Monday a planned world tour beginning in North America on May 28 in Vancouver. The White Stripes have also been on hiatus, albeit for far less time and not because of any creative differences. Jack White has been concentrating on his work in the Raconteurs.

Others on the slate include the Decemberists, the Hold Steady, Regina Spektor, Spoon, Manu Chao and the String Cheese Incident. More acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
