Eminem and Kim Change Their Tune

03/26/2007 7:45 AM, E! Online

Eminem and Kim Mathers have agreed to quit talking trash. About each other, at least.

The frequently sparring exes entered into a parental cooperation pact Monday morning that requires them to go easy on each other in public for the sake of their daughter, 11-year-old Hailie Jade.

Eminem, aka Marshall Mathers, had filed a motion requesting the verbal truce in Macomb County Circuit Court, claiming he was concerned about all the mud-slinging he had endured at the hands of his former missus, including recent TV and radio interviews in which she said that there is "nothing positive" between Eminem and Hailie.

Kim Mathers responded in court documents filed Friday, stating that her ex-hubby was no angel when it came to public denigration and citing his tattoo ("R.I.P. Kim, Rot in Pieces") and the morbid lyrics in the tune "Kim" from The Marshall Mathers LP.

"This song is a detailed account of how [Eminem] plans to murder [Kim]," read the filing obtained by the Detroit News. "It is heard every day by millions of people. It appears [Eminem] was not so concerned at the time he wrote these lyrics of how a gruesome and detailed account of how he was gong to murder her mother would affect the minor child."

Mathers appeared in court Monday for a hearing, during which she spoke to Eminem in a teleconference, after which the two signed the parental cooperation order which states that the two must refrain from making public disparaging remarks about each other.

"[Kim] states that after years of enduring [Eminem's] public derogatory statements both in his lyrics, during his performances and in the media, she decided it was time for the public to hear her side," court documents state.

And she sure isn't going to marry him again, that much is certain. Maybe.

Despite all of their high-profile troubles, including a suicide attempt on Mathers' part in 2000 and a $10 million lawsuit filed she filed against Eminem accusing him of inflicting emotional distress, the high school sweethearts tied the knot for the second time in January 2006.

Three months later, it was curtains for marital union number two. Divorce 2.0 became official in December, with the estranged duo arriving at a private out-of-court settlement and agreeing to split physical and legal custody of their daughter.

"We're very happy the court was able to bring a resolution," Eminem's attorney, Harvey Hauer, told reporters outside the courthouse Monday. "The most important thing to Marshall is Hailie."
