Arctic Monkeys have hit out at Lily Allen's producer, Mark Ronson.
The Sheffield, England four-piece slammed Ronson's cover of the Smiths' "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before," which is due out on Monday (April 9).
Frontman Alex Turner said: "I hate all those Pop Idol singers. And let me tell you what I can't stand--that f**king R&B cover version of 'Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before.'"
The band also criticized the state of hip-hop, and declared it officially dead.
Guitarist Jamie Cook told The Sun: "Even music I don't usually listen to, like hip-hop, is obviously bad at the moment. There is no real hip-hop anymore.
"Timbaland is a good producer, but he's in every song right now. Come on, there are other producers--and other beats."
The band is due to release their new single "Brianstorm" on April 17 before their new album Favourite Worst Nightmare follows a week later.
