Arctic Monkeys believe it would be "hypocritical" to play at this weekend's Live Earth concerts, they have revealed.
The Sheffield sensations are not involved in the high-profile shows, which take place simultaneously across the globe on Saturday.
In a new interview, they explained that the heavyweight production involved in touring precludes them from getting involved in climate change events.
Drummer Matt Helders said: "We're using enough power for 10 houses just for lighting. It'd be a bit hypocritical."
Meanwhile, bass player Nick O'Malley agreed, commenting: "And we're always jetting off on aeroplanes."
Arctic Monkeys release a new single, "Fluorescent Adolescent," on Monday in Britain.
