Matchbox Twenty announce first tour in four years

After a four-year touring hiatus, Matchbox Twenty will be hitting the road again next year on the Exile In America Tour. The 33-city trek will kick off on January 25 at Hard Rock Live Arena in Hollywood, Florida, and will finish March 18 at the Pearl Concert Theater in Las Vegas. Tickets for all dates go on sale this Saturday, November 17.
The Exile In America Tour will mark the first time the group has toured as a four-piece, with onetime Matchbox Twenty drummer Paul Doucette now playing guitar in the band lineup.
"We're all completely pumped about getting back together and heading out on the road after all this time, especially since we have a bunch of new songs to play for everyone," says Matchbox Twenty frontman Rob Thomas, who during the past four years has concentrated on his side solo career. "It's going to be a great show, and we can't wait to get out there."
Joining Thomas, Doucette, and company for all 33 dates will be special-guest opening acts Alanis Morissette and MuteMath. "I can't wait to share some new songs, connect with people around North America again, and join Matchbox Twenty's traveling circus," says Morissette. "So psyched!"
