Spice Offspring Felled by Pox Power

A pox on the Spice Girls' houses.

The assorted offspring of the reunited girl group have been hit by an outbreak of the chickenpox, Geri Halliwell said Friday on Britain's GMTV.

The effects of the virus meant she had to leave her 18-month-old daughter Bluebell at home as she prepares to jet off to Vancouver where the Spice Girls will kick off their reunion tour Sunday.

"Bluebell caught chickenpox from Cruz [Beckham]," Halliwell, 35, said. "She's now completely pelted now so I left her at home. Normally they're running around the set."

Luckily for the reunited group, their children seem to enjoy one another's company and keep each other occupied while their mothers are rehearsing.

"She loves hanging with the Beckham boys," Halliwell said of Bluebell in a post on the official Spice Girls blog this week. "Cruz and Bluebell have play dates, and Romeo--well, he is just gorgeous with her.

"Actually, it was a beautiful moment when we were rehearsing the other day and all of our kids were playing on the stage at the same time. It made me smile."

In all, there are seven Spice kids, with Melanie Chisholm remaining the lone childless member of the group.

So far, the Spice Girls have sold more than 750,000 tickets for their 40-date tour and more dates may still be added.

Each member of the group is expected to make about $20 million from the reunion venture, including advertising revenues and album sales.
