Mellower, moodier and more introspective, Me Against The World was considered a classic among rap fans. It was a more successful crossover record than his previous releases, but a little less exciting as the breakneck tempos and fast paced rapping demonstrated on Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. were replaced by Dr. Dre style--the slow grooves and whiny synths now typical for West Coast rap.
