Think Like A Girl

This young vocalist's pipes are a treasure. She controls her vocals as a chameleon would color, skillfully altering its sonic timbre and emotional tonality to evoke a sundry of moods. King boasts a rasta sound that doesn't overload tenured reggae listeners--which probably turns off Jamaican loyalists; however, to the masses, her style is endearing. The title track is a bouncy reggae ditty that raises the mood of anyone listening. On her remake of Culture Club's "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me," King uses a stirring introduction before stepping into the song's familiar melody. "Sweeter" is a mid-tempo gem that showcases the singer's soaring sonic talents. The artist shifts gears on "Find My Way Back," jettisoning her reggae-influenced sound in favor of powerful soul-laced pop vocals. King breaks things down on "Tenderness," a gentle pop ballad that's simple in arrangement, yet possesses emotive content, courtesy of King's vocal talents.
