Though half of this is marred by Yoko's squeaky voice, the Lennon material here--the first fresh stuff heard in many years--is among his very best and most tuneful. Aside from the ironically-titled (considering Lennon's fate) single "(Just Like) Starting Over," this boasts Lennon's beautiful "Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)," "Woman," and "Watching The Wheels." Sadly, the melodic sense that had seemed to desert Lennon five years earlier seemed to have fully returned--but to no avail.
