Smart, middle-class Orange County white boys give their all and make a great record. It's really about more than punk--"Self-Esteem" and "Gotta Get Away" are nearly mid-tempo, melodic rock--note the Middle Eastern riff in "Come Out And Play." What's really punk here is the band's penchant for satire and social commentary and its staunchly independent attitude.
