Though a double-LP seemed extravagant at the time, from a '90s perspective--when very ordinary albums can last 70 minutes or longer--there simply can't be too much of a good thing like this. Featuring nearly every shade of music imaginable--R&B, spacey jams (witness his masterful "1983...[A Merman I Should Turn To Be]"), and his immortal version of "All Along The Watchtower"--this disc shows Jimi Hendrix was a master of nearly every music form he tried.
