Christina Aguilera

Where's the parental advisory sticker? Cripes! This full-length debut by the former New Mickey Mouse Club cast member is the aural equivalent of softcore pornography, with a dicey underage bent. Slick and vapid disco production is laid over the dangerously young-looking Aguilera moaning her way through a succession of male fantasies. Case in point is the single "Genie In A Bottle." The tune casts the pouty blonde as either a choosy hooker or a coy sex slave, judging by lyrics like "If you want to be with me baby there's a price to pay/I'm a genie in a bottle/You gotta rub me the right way."
The double entendre of "Come On Over (All I Want Is You)" is even more crudely titillating, with Aguilera begging "I'm gonna give you more/I know I've never felt this way before/So boy won't you come/Won't you come knocking on my door?" Yikes!
That is not to say the singer should not be allowed to break free of a goody-goody image. But the lyrics are so vapid and the music is so run-of-the-disco-mill that there is little noteworthy about this album but its salacious content. It should sell like hotcakes.
