The Man Who Sold The World

Hunky Dory's predecessor was stunning--but heard by few until it was reissued by RCA following Ziggy Stardust's success. With the debut of guitarist Mick Ronson, the sound Bowie achieved here was glorious--a cross between heavy metal, Jeff Beck-style guitar riffing, and extremely imaginative pop. With "Width Of A Circle," "All The Madmen," and the title track, Bowie had proven the equal of any of his contemporaries. And he'd get even better.
