A diverse, exhilarating debut record chock full of sap ("Mama"), snap ("Wannabe," "Who Do You Think You Are") and crap ("If You Can't Dance"). That the Spice Girls actually co-wrote most of these songs is pretty amazing, considering their limited singing talents and undistinguished musical backgrounds. Must be all that Girl Power! in one room. Like a pot luck dinner, Spice runs the gamut from KC & The Sunshine Band bump to Babyface pop to lightweight En Vogue crooning. Still, a damn fun listen.
