Plays Live (Remaster) Review

Released after Security brought Peter Gabriel a gold record and Top 40 hit, the double-album Plays Live summarizes his first four solo albums quite well. Though these performances aren't as fearless as the ones that accompanied his first solo tours, they are surging and tight. Gabriel is a consummate performer and even if the tapes were slightly cleaned up in the studio, his passion is apparent throughout the record.
