American Originals compiles material from Tillis' brief time at Columbia Records. He was with the label at the beginning of his career, and while he was there, he primarily recorded his own material. American Originals, though too brief at 10 tracks, gives a good sense of his developing talents. ~ Thom Owens, All Music Guide
